Gift-a-Pension : Website
Helping educate lower-income groups on retirement savings.
Overview
GAP, led by pinBox, launched in India with HDFC Pension and in Kenya with Zamara and Prudential, helps middle and upper-middle-income households contribute to retirement savings for domestic workers and family members. The website promotes financial literacy around NPS, encouraging retirement savings for low-income groups and their families. The project redesign aims to boost traction and spread awareness.
Problem Statement
How might we enable middle and upper-middle-income households to contribute to the retirement savings of domestic help and family members to boost financial security for the economically weaker sections, while addressing the lack of knowledge about NPS and its benefits?
Stakeholders
Average to High-Income Individuals

To gain a comprehensive understanding of NPS and advocate for its benefits to others.
Economically Weaker but Salaried Individuals
To secure their future by saving for retirement and accessing pension benefits.
Adults 18 and Above
To open an NPS account independently or with assistance from employed and knowledgeable individuals.
Overlapping Pain Points
Insufficient awareness about NPS.
Limited channels available for NPS enrollment and management.
Widespread lack of retirement planning knowledge across all social groups.
No option to gift a pension account in India.
Ideation
After thorough research, the goal was to design a website that feels modern while retaining a rural essence. This approach bridges connections between rural and urban audiences, appealing to both affluent and economically weaker segments of society.
The website’s core objective is to educate and encourage users to start a retirement plan for themselves or someone else, using the tools and information provided to guide them through their retirement journey.

Calculator in GAP
Why is Calculator important?
The main idea of the website is to make the audience understand and convince them to start their own or someone else's retirement journey. This tool needs to show the amounts clearly and in an attractive manner to make a serious yet convincing point.
